ODBC update on Image detail set

1). Using Excel I am able to update fields even if I am missing a unique
key.
2) Using VB4.0 (16 bit) i am not able to update the same dataset. It shows
as a readonly dynaset.  It beats me why.   Anyone with ideas ?
