To use a host (OVDTCMGR) port on a DTC as the remote console,
you will need to use a 25pin port and create a cable that passes
the RS-232 signals to drop the line the same as a modem. If not,
you can leave the LDEV20 port un-usable.

There is also also the problem of a certain lack of security to
using TELNET on a DTC port.

Another way to control an HP3000 accross a WAN would be to use an
old XT or AT with a DOS based emulator and some remote control
software that will work with your WAN.
