To follow up on other comments, we upgraded to 5.0 a few months ago; we
noticed the slow-down, but it coincided with some new Speedware V7
applications, so we didn't make the connection.

Once we saw that it wasn't just the new apps, we charted sys utilization and
talked to our performance experts, who recommended a memory upgrade, which
we did. Almost zero visible improvement; the charts looked better, but the
users got angrier. Next we tried leveraging the disk load. We had a few
days that seemed to be better, but recently we're back to where we started,
with 3 minute jobs sometimes taking an hour and a half.

One thing we have noticed; older versions of Speedware apps seem to get huge
CPU time, while V7 gets miniscule amounts. Latter is also true for our new
GL system (MHandCo).

Does this really make sense in terms of how 5.0 is supposed to behave?
