Hi,

Does anyone know if there is an HP-UX equivalent to SPT/iX or Sampler?

(I'm asking this group, rather than comp.sys.hp.hpux, because you are
more likely to be familiar with the terms "SPT/iX" and "Sampler").

For those who don't know, SPT and Sampler are two great tools from HP,
which monitor the execution of a single program and tell you where you
are spending CPU time. SPT/iX (also known as NM Sampler, to HP's dismay),
is excellent at indentifying use of intrinsics, and pretty good at
giving you information about where in your program you are spending time.

Sampler, for MPE V, is excellent at giving you information about
where in your program you are spending time, and fair at giving
intrinsic usage information.

thanks,
