I may be way off base on this and my reply may need correction by someone
more knowledgeable (hello, HP!) but I don't think that you need to
*reinstall* all your user files, etc. if you don't add or delete volumes
to/from the MPEXL_SYSTEM_VOLUME_SET.  Just cut a SLT using SYSGEN after
you have revised the paths in the IO section.  I would highly recommend
that you do a full system backup just in case the unexpected bites you on
the backside.  In fact, you may be able to accomplish the path changes
using a START NORECOVERY.
