I've got a compatibility mode COBOL program that uses various intrinsic
calls (FCONTROL, FSETMODE, FDEVICECONTROL) to configure a port and read from
a digital weigh indicator attached to that port. The program worked fine
until the system was updated to MPE/ix 5.0. Now the FREAD intrinsic returns
a "PARITY ERROR" on every try. Nothing else has changed.

Has anyone experienced a problem similar to this... and if so... any
suggestions?

Thanks for your help!
