The problem, previously discussed on this forum, is the HP Probe
protocol generated by NS.  We had similar problems with Retix routers
before we replaced them with Cisco, which seems to handle the Probe
protocol.  For most other routers, I believe bridging needs to be turned
on.  I am not a networking guru, so hopefully someone else can fill in
the details for you.
