Although as many of you probably know I am an MPE
partisan, assure all multi-platform people this was *not*
a deliberate slight on my part. I certainly expect
SIGUNIX to participate again; plus note in one of my
messages believe I did say that we will try and get
"State of the Product Line" presentations from senior
R&D managers from both CSY *and* GSY.

Just that I'm still waiting for feedback from other SIG
leaders, including SIGUNIX; until I get at least a prelim
confirmation that SIGUNIX will meet, figured I would
potentially be jumping the gun to advertise on the UNIX
side.

A thought: I will be gone all next week, at a location in
the North Cascades where I will be completely sans-
email. If SIGUNIX or for that matter SIGSYSMAN would
like to post an announcement to the UNIX community
while I'm gone, that would be fine (please let me know
if anyone does that, since 3000-L is the only discussion
group I follow on a routine basis). I will check status of
SIG leader responses when I get back; hopefully will
have gotten replies from a bunch more leaders by then.

So anyway, by all means invite the UNIX people to
SIGSYSMAN. If SIGUNIX or any other SIG(s) that deal
with both MPE and HP-UX plan to meet, ditto for them.
But as per above, SIGSYSMAN is the only SIG I have
heard from so far......

SIDEBAR to all SIG leaders that may read this: The
"official" reply as to whether your SIG will meet at
IPROF-96 should as per the letter to all leaders go to
Interex. But it occurs to me that I should have put
something in that letter asking all leaders who are
e-mail capable to put me on direct copy........
Guess I'll try and make that an after-the-fact request...
