Subject: Re[3]: Pocket Guide

Thanks for the nice words, Gavin.

Speaking for ORBiT, we'd gladly update, revamp, and reprint the Pocket
Guides we've produced in past years but have not done so due to the
high costs involved. Besides the several hundred dollars of
preparation (updating, typesetting, etc.), we've got several thousand
dollars in printing charges and then hundreds more in shipping to our
     offices.

We've been told by a number of people (including in Toronto) that
they'd gladly pay for the guides but we are unable to pass along our
costs because the material is copyrighted by HP.

Perhaps if there were enough interest, we could charge an inflated
shipping/handling cost that would cover the cost of the guides
themselves. If anyone has ideas about how we can defray our costs and
provide current Pocket Guides to the MPE user community, we'd love to
     hear them.

     David Merit
