Ditto. Many of our non-UNIX platforms (Xerox printers, Banyan PC network
servers [yes, I know, it's really a brain-dead UNIX box, pardon the redundant
phrase] and PC's with RNS) support lpr/lpd. This is a critical mass which
rivals, if not surpasses JetDirect technology.

A *PLUG ALERT* aside: after being told the same from HP, we did invest
in RACs network spooling package. I'm impressed by the price/performance
afforded by the software.
