The documentation for HPSELECT says that it only works for NetIPC sockets.
I haven't tried this myself, but it'd sure be nice if the documentation
were wrong and Gavin were right. (I presume that the documentation is wrong
insofar as it states NetIPC but really means NetIPC and BSD.) However,
IOWAIT will hang on both NetIPC sockets _and_ ordinary files. That just
leaves AIF ports.
