The biggest reason is that the non-HP drive is not on your support
contract, so HP tech support will not touch any problems that may
be possibly caused by or related to that drive. This is OK if your machine
is not mission-critical, but if the system *is* critical, getting a non-HP
mechanism won't look like such a good idea when you get a System
Abort and HP asks you to describe what kind of disks you have on the
machine.
