Probably the cheapest routes would be to export the image data and
ftp it over and load it in via the bcp, sql*loader or whatever
equivalent. Some of the 3rd party vendors support the image/sql
gateway but I have no idea about the costs. Sybase as an example
still list the open-client/server kits which could be used to
roll your own c/s file xfer routine.

Another alternative might be to look at a tool like PowerPlay (from Cognos)
which allows you to create information packages in that support multi-
dimensional analsyis on MAC or Windows. The MDDBMS can be deployed on
the PC or LAN server. PowerPlay also has a host server component which
allows you to have the MDD on the iX if you wanted.

Pricing and Availability
PowerPlay 4.1 is available for $695. This single-copy price includes:
PowerPlay Transformer, the administrative software for creating and
packaging multidimensional information; the PowerPlay Explorer and
Reporter user components; and PowerPlay Portfolio, for assembling
report collections using standard Windows OLE. Significant discounts
apply for volume purchases and enterprise licensing. PowerPlay 4.1
requires Windows 3.1, an IBM PC or compatible 386, and 4 MB. A 486
PC is recommended.
