We have a customer who is running a HP927/iX, 4.0, and just configured two
(2) HP2563 printers.
 
The problem is that a blank page is being generated for all reports, when
printed, ie.
        * Banner (start)
        * Blank Page
        * Report
        * Banner (end)
 
We verified the configuration in NMMGR; Printer, Type 22.
 
We used TTUTIL.PUB.SYS, to verify the file TT22.PUB.SYS.
 
The VFC and Intialization screen references VFCPCL.PUB.SYS, and the
Initialization String contained:
 
        ESC,'Z',ESC,'E',ESC,'&l1L'
 
The manual states:
 
        The programmable reset escape sequence (ESC E) causes the printer to
eject paper to the Top of Form (position 0,0) if not already at Top of Form.
This command resets all printer configurations to the default state.
 
We tried removing the ESC,'E' from the VFC Initialization String and
re-booted, but the problem still persists.
 
We sent the reports to another type printer and they print fine (without a
blank page being generated).
 
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to eliminate the blank page from
being generated (a real waste of paper) short of replacing the printers.
