Item Subject: new default hppath for 5.0
Perhaps it would be easier to set those logon udc HPPATH changes to some
variation of:

SETVAR HPPATH HPPATH + ",GROUP.ACCT"
( = !hpgroup,pub,pub.sys,arpa.sys,group.acct)

or

SETVAR HPPATH "GROUP.ACCT," + HPPATH
( = group.acct,!hpgroup,pub,pub.sys,arpa.sys)

If the default HPPATH changes, the SETVAR is dynamic enough to handle it.

Just made an interesting observation today.

I noticed that, on MPE/iX 5.0, the default HPPATH is no longer:

        !HPGROUP,PUB,PUB.SYS

Rather, it is:

        !HPGROUP,PUB,PUB.SYS,ARPA.SYS

Clearly, this is for the benefit of those who anticipate utilizing the
newly-bundled FTP and TELNET services.

However, those who utilize the common technique of adding to the default
HPPATH via a system logon-wide UDC, may want to consider adding the
'ARPA.SYS' group to the default HPPATH, just to stay in step with the new
"HP Standard".

Incidentally, I don't recall reading this in the Communicator.

Anyway, I hope this makes at least one person's day. How about a millisecond?

Incidentally, while thinking about node names, and Evan's thoughts about
same, I thought, gee - maybe we could add 'DENYS' to the default HPPATH.
