Like others, I like yours better but still prefer consistency with other
commands, so unless you can get them *all* changed...

Stick with IP.  We can get the domain name other ways.

I'd probably choose 9 so all the capability would be there, but then of
course I would immediately write a command file to emulate 8, and every time
I used it I'd complain about how #@/*! slow it was, and how if only the
*real* format 8 was available...
