Hi,

A friend of mine noticed some hard memory errors (:SYSDIAG / LOGTOOL / MEMRPT)
on their HP3000 and called HP. The CE said, as I understand it,:

   1) MPE/iX 5.0 has the ability to mark a page "bad" and not use it,
      so don't worry.

   2) HP won't replace a board if less than 10% of the pages have had
      errors.

<<snip>> <<snip>> <<chop>> <<chop>> <<slice>> <<slice>>

Maybe your friend could just flag that CE "bad" (or whatever suggested
to leave the flaky board in the system) and shop around for service.
I (Bob J. the CE) thought that folks were paying me to keep questionable
hardware out of their systems, but the group I work with still does
PMs too. Maybe that makes us old fashioned.
