I too had difficulty relating the subject to the content during this thread.
I have heard that certain 3rd-party SCSI disc drives do indeed work on
HP3000's - specifically the Maxtor 1.3 GB as well the Maxtor 2 GB drive. I
have not yet actually seen it nor confirmed it personally.
I have not yet looked at the IODEVACC file mentioned, but will certainly do
so. (Incidentally, I'm currently on 4.0. restoring a single file from the 5.0
FOS tape takes forever.).
Meanwhile, I'd be interested to hear from anybody who knows or has experience
with attaching non-HP disc drives to the HP3000.
By the way, I would also love to know more deatils about why Richard had to
revert back to 4.0. What financial applications gave you problems? What
specific problems did you encounter? etc. etc.
