Yes, its true and works very well.  The OpenView DTC Manager software
sits on top of OpenView for Windows and can control all the DTC's on
your network.  It provides for mutiple serial connections to the same
machine or multiple machines through a single serial connection.  It
works well with both the Hp3000 and HP9000.  It can also "share"
printers among different machines (up to 3).
 
Required software: OpenView for Windows (includes PC/TCP networking
software)
Recommended software: Windows for Workgroups (Windows 3.11 is also
supported).
 
Pricing for the entire package runs about $4000 (I don't recall exact
pricing.)
 
Implementation concerns:  the HP3000 normally directly handles DTC
management.  The 3K must be reconfigured to support OpenView DTC
Manager -  requires system restart.  All DTC's previously handled by
the 3K must be handled by the PC based software.  In short,
implementation could be a timing nightmare if the systems have to be up
24x7.
