For anyone waiting to upgrade:
We had two problems when upgrading to MPE iX 5.0. First, there is a
warning about tape drives (DAT vers 7.11). We found out that you cannot
boot MPE 5.0 from DAT vers 11.15 either. You get the message FLT DEAD
where your function keys should be. Also, If you are upgrading from the
NEW version of Resource Sharing and do not use the Network Interface
named LAN1, you will have to edit the RSCONF file in PPC.SYS. It is
restored to the default by the Install. Better yet, reconfigure your
NI name. You will get errors on the NSCONTROL command that indicate
the NBDAEMON will not start.
Hope this helps on those lonely weekend updates.
