R. Corn talked about the Jet direct EX not being supported / working with a
C30D printer. I have a couple ? comments.

1: just to be quizical, not nit pick, he said that because the
C30 uses a CENTRONICS INTERFACE, the JD EX knows it is not
a LJ. HOW??? all LJs connected to the JD EX use Centronics, don't
they?? Perhaps it really does a status check??
If it does a status check, then the C30 could be made to respond
differently and trick the narrow minded people (I mean device).

2: The printer and connection get its support thru a group in
Cupertino CA. I suspect they can fix the problem. A simple
analogy might help- I would not call the divsion that makes
the engine in my truck when it is broken, I would call the company
that sold me the truck. I appreciate that RC found an internal problem
inside of HP, but what happens when the proper support group is
called?? (I am hoping we might get a resolution thru them.

3: What happens on HP UX??????

4: I ran a C30 on a JD EX for several months, I do not
recall having things get hosed like this. I know my printer
when off line in the middle and was left alone. I think it
picked up where it left off...

Any one else????
