That certainly came out the wrong way, didn't it? :-)
For those who didn't know, I use an offline reader for mail and news -
normally advertised by an 'X-Newsreader' header (I added a copy in my sig
this time). It allows me to save money, think before answering, keep an
archive of posts, etc. If you're on a budget, I recommend the approach.
When I log on (un*x shell account) I post replies and then check incoming
mail. If a message is *really* important I try to reply on-line. Think
of writing a Q+D in Cobol - typing it in straight to the compiler. :-)
So the post was not meant to be caustic or sarcastic - just an overly
terse 'me too' apology on the heels of a post that was out of reach by
then. My apologies if it sounded snippy or huffy.
