[log in to unmask][log in to unmask], 27 Mar 1995 09:10:00 -0640372_- Is anyone out there using MS92 with windows for work groups? We
connected to an HP 3000 fine under Windows 3.1, but when we upgraded to
WFWG 3.11, we lost the ability to connect to the HP. It gives the colon
prompt and after entering user/password, it just hangs. Any ideas?

No.

5.0 Push supports only *outbound* telnet ... that's from the HP3000 to
another machine. Inbound telnet (to the HP3000) is not yet supported.

There are more official terms (like telnet-client and telnet-server),
but they aren't as clear as outbound and inbound, it seems.

To telnet *to* the HP3000 you currently need to telnet to a SEPARATE
machine. There are two basic choices:
   1) telnet to a DTC with a TAC (Telnet Access Card)
(the IP address will be *different* from the HP3000's IP address)

   2) telnet to an HP9000 (and vt3k from there to the 3000).
