I am doing this today, using win httpd and a visual basic cgi program
using odbc & image sql.

This is the painless way to accomplish your goal. The win httpd is
available @ http://www.alisa.com/
It has a great cgi (common gateway interface) which allows you to call
any windows application. So.. use VisualBasic and odbc to interface
to your 3k data base. Once you learn how to set the server up, you
could do the rest, ie the VB app & image dbe stuff, in a day or two.

Don't know of any unix odbc clients, but they may be there.

The 3k web server is the *man's* way to go. However, the
3k httpd cgi interface is a bear. Plus, you'll have to
write a C prog for the image access and you have to be on iX 5.0.
And, you'll need to be posix (read unxi) savy, as the httpd
runs under the posix shell. *But*, you end up with a more robust,
industrial strength web/image interface.

good luck,
