Another option would be to get a couple of communication servers (*plug* a
3Com 10 port CS/2600 would be perfect) running TCP/IP. Attach one to the DTC
end and send the other to the remote location for the printer. Assign an IP
address to the c/s port the printer is connected to and set a Permanent Virtual
Circuit between the two comm server ports.

If you would like more info on this type of setup please feel free to send me
an email.

A customer of ours is seeking wisdom on putting Line Printers in remote
locations served by a Frame Relay cloud. I've thought of TCP/IP to
serial print servers with NBSpool on the 3000, DTCs in the remote
locations and maybe JetDirect cards in the LPs (if such an animal exists)
again with NBSpool.

Any collective wisdom out here in cyberspace?

Thanks,
