Duane,

This was highlighted a few days ago on the list. I've attached the original
post for your information.

================

There is a known problem with MPE/iX C.50.00 that a backreferenced purge
in a JOB fails to perform the purge. This may cause the job stream to
terminate but not always.  See sr's 4701-278416, 5003-244749, 5003-255703.

Thus  File x=abc;save                File x=xyz
      purge *x                       purge *x

Does not "erase" the file abc. Does not purge the file xyz.
Ths is only in a JOB, online works OK!

There is a patch available to fix the problem. MPEHX50 is/was site-specific
and MPEHX55 is/was a multi-problem patch that should also fix it. Contact
the response center for the latest info and the Patch.
