Had a thought (dangerous, I know...)
Somewhere in the Image stack/segment the logging id has to be stored (at
least if the database you've opened is being logged and you open it with
update access). I wonder if it's possible to:
1) modify that area (i.e. insert a logging id after calling dbopen for a
database that isn't normally logged, but you might want to log in certain
cases..certain applications/users/whatever)
2) If that worked, would the other DB@ intrinsics then write log records
normally (i.e. is that all the other intrinsics check - for a valid logid
in that variable-space, or do they check other things first?)
If (1), anyone know where that logid is kept/how to get at it?
If not (2), is the other flag unique to the process so it could be changed
safely (without affecting other database accessors)? Where is it?
We need to do this anyway, if the above could be made to work it would make
like alot easier (we're currently pursuing other -not so clean- approaches).
Any help appreciated,
Chris Bartram
