Thanks for your response.  Our tech guys had a couple of other questions.
 
First,  is there any solution that you can come up with using POSIX?
 
Second,  in your response, you mentioned using a SMTP gateway on the
UNIX side - but what is the transport mechanism?  How can the files
automagically transfer to the unix box without uucp (over modems without
the expense of a router, etc.)?
 
If we went the "dial-on-demand router" method, what would that involve -
and do you have an idea on hardware cost, etc.?
