A small note:
If you're going to check for the existence of variables to determine
OS versions, you might want to *try* to change the value of the variable,
if found. If you can't change it, this will prove it to be a readonly HP
variable and not just *any* variable (possibly created by someone like
myself, a command-file junkie). I used to use HPCWD before it became
a reserved variable.
