I don't know about an 'HP' 4000, but back in the early '80s, there
was a company in Mt. View, CA that put out a box _based_ on a 3000
called the BTI (for Basic Timesharing, Inc.) 4000 (they later put
out a 5000, too, I believe). It ran BIT's own OS and supported a
BASIC/3000-like language. Perhaps this is what your applicant meant?
