On page 4 of the Feb 95 issue of the 3000 edition of
the HP Advisor, there is "TECH TIP" article by Diana
DiSabatino titled "Routable AFCP allows remote
access to HP 3000 via DTCs". (Diana, you should
beat up on the editor of HP Advisor for spelling your
name wrong in the by-line......)

Under the "How the routable AFCP works" heading
is the following sentance: "Somewhere on the WAN
is a Domain Name System (DNS) server which stores
an address directory." ..... So having DNS available is
a key piece of the routable AFCP puzzle. But DNS is
not officially certified/supported on the 3000 yet. BUT:

At the recent communications seminar sponsored by
NOWRUG at HP-Bellevue, HP said that additional
features are now available in MPE 5.0 that *should*
make it possible to support full-function DNS
on the 3000. But my understanding was that no one
at HP has confirmed that yet....... IMHO it would be
a good move by HP if they would go ahead and do so.
