I have successfully implemented Jim Wowchuk's MPE daemon program(MPED)
that allows commands from a UNIX machine to be issued on the 3000.
Works great! Now I'm looking for a means to reverse this process and
have an HP3000 program be able to issue UNIX commands on an HP-UX
machine. I want to have a job stream run on the HP3000 that ftp's a
file to a UNIX host and then issue a command to the UNIX host to act
on the file. I'm trying to avoid using a UNIX cron process that wakes
up periodically checking to see if the file exists. Anyone have any
suggestions? My 3000 is at version 4.0 presently, but will be at 5.0
within the next two months. tks in advance
