So, we gave the computer a _name_.  We put that into the login prompt in
sysgen.  So our users know what they're talking to, and prospective
crackers have less information.
 
As for the error messages, I would agree that HP should review this
situation and consider changing them.  They are of no use to newbie users
anyhow (duh..what's a user, is that like an account on my UNIX machine?),
and of great aid to hackers.  If we ever tie our HP 3000 to the net, those
messages will vanish in favor of something like "call 2707 if you need
help".
