[This posting is made on request from the News Administrator of hpbbn.]

Due to a problem in one of the major European HP News systems, hpbbn,
some articles to/from European HP sites may have been lost in the period
from December 12 through January 9.

So if you have "addressed" a News article to a person at one of the
European HP sites, and (s)he has not responded, then that may be because
(s)he did not get your article, or you did not get his/her response. In
such a case, I advise to contact the person, or repost your article.

While not totally unambiguous, likely affected hosts can be identified
by looking at the "Path:" line in the header of articles from those
sites. If the host "hpbbn" is listed in the path, then the host(s) to
the right of the name "hpbbn" will likely be affected.

Note: Look for the hostname of the News server in the "Path:" or
"Message-ID:" lines. The hostnames in the "From:" and
"NNTP-Posting-Host:" lines are not relevant, because they might not be
the same as the name of the News server.

  Best regards,

Frank Slootweg, user and (de-facto) News Administrator of hpuamsa.
