FWIW I'd like to get on the list, but with a different approach.  The
command can generate column headings - how about new parameters like:
    ;INC{lude} | EX{clude} [heading value]<relop>[value]
        for example,  . . . ;exclude=jobnum<10
    ;SORT <sortspec>
        for example   . . . ;sort=+account+user-jobnum
Could these extensions be used in the :SHOWJOB (pocket guide) context of an
'item'?
