As I wrote earlier, this JOB was written in the mid to late 90s and my memory
is not that reliable. However, if I recall correctly, the issue was the disc
file size and the difficulties encountered with long ftp transmissions over the
network to remote backup storage. Creating multiple smaller files resulted in
fewer transmission failures. This was when our link to the Internet was via
ADSL and our LAN was 10BaseT.
