That's NEVER happened to me! Ok, maybe once or twice but my memory is fading.

Yes that was the problem, since rectified. I did not make the changes
permanent by restarting the system with the norecovery option. Possibly this
was because my focus was on getting the HP3000 pdf production to work and
forgetting to complete the process after all the changes were finalised.
