My speculation is, if you made the leap, only 100 users or so
would follow.

someone is not paying attention. Like the frog in water starting to
boil, like the old yahoo groups features were taken away a piece at a
time over several years. List-serv is old technology and I imagine it
doesn't look good on anyone's resume at the University to keep up with
it.

This simply exists by the largesse of a University willing to do so.
They owe us no responsibility at all, there is no more Jeff Kell to
stand up for it. All it takes is a university IT director to declare
it's over.

Ironically, complaints of poor service can lead a shut off.

I'm suggesting migrate elsewhere before its over.

>> A couple of users from the Vintage HP list are trying to
subscribe to this
>> list, but are unable to reach the server (raven.utc.edu). One

outside the US?
> I think it has been established previously that there is
something preventing
> access to the web server on raven.utc.edu from outside North
America or USAnia.
>
> But they may be able work LISTSERV via its e-mail interface.
>
> Send e-mail TO: [log in to unmask]
> with the request in the body text: SUBSCRIBE HP3000-L full name
> (replacing “full name” with their full name; e-mail address to
subscribe
> will be taken from their From: header).
>
> LISTSERV can do more, you can get the list archives e-mailed to
you.
> Send it HELP (again, requests go in the body), find out more.
