Hi John,
I replaced my 'Windows XP Pro' with 'Linux Mint Cinnamon' back in 2009
and have never regretted doing it.
I use Thunderbird instead of M$ Outlook, LibreOffice instead of M$
Office, and Firefox instead of Internet Explorer or M$ Edge.
If I need to run a Windows program (no open source version available)
then I run it under WINE. Most Windows software works without any problems.
regards,
Robert
