Yes, file equations are being used to point to the printer.I changed the file equation to point to another printer, temporarily. The HP3000 needs to talk to the original printer, since it is local to the department that needs it.

I have powered up the printer and it is still in the " *STOP " mode.
According to the online help:  "an asterisk (*) will precede the processstate on the SHOW display to denote that the state is pending"

Subject: Re: [HP3000-L] Bring Printer LDEV Back to Life  Hi Mark,   Yes, have issued ABORTIO to it more times than I can count.   No change.I can ping the printer. It is functional.  Have not tried to configure the printer as a different LDEV, because many programs are hard-coded to send output to it.Currently moving spool files from the LDEV to another as a stop gap measure.I really need to get the original LDEV definition functional.  -John

Subject: Re: [HP3000-L] Bring Printer LDEV Back to LifeHave you tried ABORTIO LDev?  If it is a network printer, can you ping it?  Have you tried to configure the same printer IP as a different LDev.  There are many ways to approach this.  Assuming the printer is actually functional, I am confident I can help you get it working again.
