Had a question from an internal SOX auditor today in the form of:

"Do you have a tracking mechanism that says where tapes are stored at any given moment?  i.e. Tape 1 is in the safe, tape 2 is out with vendorX, etc."

My reply was:   "We don't number our tapes so tape numbers would be irrelevant."

My coworker Alfred Nizzardini said he could hear the pencil lead snap in the auditor's room.
