Uh, that was me, Stan, not Denys.

The answer I gave started with an analogy ... if you have a blank audio cassette and then record some music on it, the weight is the same.

Turns out I set some kind of precedent in Canadian copyright law, having to do with "durability" of software, I think.  (I can't find it now, but noticed it during a search some years ago.)
