You need a separate program for TRIM and SSD optimization (for Windows XP).
My Intel SSD came with one, I think Crucial did too.

John,
What OS is this for. I think mainly you want to make sure TRIM is "enabled" for the OS.
It is a bit more difficult for a MAC.

Subject: SSD installation
HI all-
Has anyone recently installed a solid state drive in an older laptop?
Kingston advertises one for $65 that supposedly comes with software
that will transfer files to it, also. What a great way to revive an
older laptop. Or are there issues? Installation issues? Driver
issues? Interface issues?
Thanks,
John Lee
