For me, MPE and HP3000's "Truck Factor" has been it's like an old pickup truck--you put the key in, turn it over, and it's running.
In 4 years at Bellefonte, we had one unscheduled downtime when an original system drive failed after almost 10 years of constant use.
But there is a fun story behind that one. :-D

I honestly don't think it applies any longer to MPE (which isn't a 4GL hehehehe - sorry couldn't resist!) as MPE has now stablilized and has a support base in people like Stan, Birket, donna (case on purpose :) ) Neil, yourself, Alfredo (where is he these days anyways??) and such.... (Yes, I know I forgot lots of people!)
Now, if there aren't people out there that are willing to learn new "old" things.... then MPE will fade out as this community fades away :(
