Please take three minutes to watch a piece of HP3000 history.  I think you
will enjoy it.  

 

It features my daughter, a 947SX and a 7980S tape drive.  We restore a group
of files from the ½ inch reel to reel tape.  We demonstrate the age and even
run one that I wrote in BASIC in 1983 while I was a computer operator at
Northern Telecom.  This really proves backward compatibility!

We created this video as we soon we will no longer have the capability to
create it.  We are downsizing.  I will no longer have all this great old
equipment.   Let me know if you may be interested in helping salvage any of
the following:

 

We have three of these 7980 tape drives (one 7980S and two HP-IB, but I have
another SCSI kit to install). 

We also have four HP3000 systems of the Nova (9x7) vintage and one 988.

We have about ten 6000 disk enclosures with disks.

We have four Jamaica enclosures and disks.

And some DTCs and other cool peripherals.

 

All the equipment is located in the Minneapolis/St Paul area.
