The density parameter is needed only if you want to force a density other than the drive's default. It only has an effect when writing; drives will automatically detect the density when reading.

That's very close. I believe you also have to include a "density"
parameter on the file equation:

   SYSA:
   SYSA: remote:sysb
   SYSB: hello user, manager.sys
   ENTER USER (MANAGER) PASSWORD:

   HP3000 Release: C.60.00 User Version: C.60.00 THU, SEP 9, 1999,
  5:41 PM
   MPE/iX HP31900 C.16.01 Copyright Hewlett-Packard 1987. All rights
reserved.

   SYSB: :
   ENVIRONMENT 2: SYSB.WIDGET.COM=SYSB.WIDGET.COM
   SYSA:
   SYSA: file reel; dev=sysb#9; den=1600
   SYSA:
   SYSA: store @.@; *reel; show
