Hi All :)
I feel the need, nay the imperative, to remind all that this list is under the constraints of the Atmarian (sp) Calendar and therefore; cannot be sure of the day/date that anyone is actually residing within.

Art "A tribute to Wirt, who's posts I still very much miss!" Bahrs
Still miss Wirt too!

Ah, but it is tomorrow (Friday) in New Zealand.

No telling where Jack was yesterday, mentally or physically.

Great! Happy Friday, Patricia...glad you've got the system back.

I defer to Gilles, Stan, Denys, and Donna as they did all the heavy lifting, but you may want to log on as MANAGER.SYS and type SYSGEN, then SYS, and then SH and see if STORECAT.PUB.SYS is in the IPL/SYSTEM file list. These are the files that get written out to the SLT when you do a TA.

If it's not there, I would add it. You may also want to add EDITOR.PUB.SYS and perhaps FCOPY .PUB.SYS and create a new SLT once you have the list as you want it.

Also, run CHECKSLT.MPEXL.TELESUP against the new SLT to make sure it's all set to go in case it's needed in the future.

Jack

Thanks a lot everyone for your help. Gilles recommended to perform an install again and I did it (thank you Gilles).
After the install, I started like this:

START NORECOVERY NOSYSSTART LOGON=MANAGER.SYS (thank you Donna for the document)

Then, I check for the storecat.pub.sys:

:LISTF [log in to unmask],1

Only STORE.PUB.SYS exists. No STORECAT.PUB.SYS exist.

I built the file:

:BUILD STORECAT;REC=-80,,F,ASCII;DISC=3898 (thanks Joseph and Jack)

I check again with the LISTF to see if the asterisk appears. No asterisk.
I perform the restore in another group (thanks Keven, Craig and Jack)

:FILE T;DEV=TAPE
:RESTORE *T;STORECAT.PUB.SYS;GROUP=INSTALL;SHOW

and also restore the FCOPY from my full backup

:RESTORE *T;FCOPY.PUB.SYS;SHOW

after the restore, I check again for the asterisk on the storecat file. No asterisk.
I purge the storecat.pub.sys and then I use the FCOPY:

:PURGE STORECAT.PUB.SYS
:FCOPY FROM=STORECAT.INSTALL;TO=STORECAT.PUB;NEW

I perform the full restore and everything is ok.

Thank you Stan for your explanation about the bootup:
"If she hasn't done a bootup, then the fake STORECAT should be purgeable, and the approach several people gave (restoring into a different group) should work fine." (it works)

and finally, thanks to Denys, Barry, Mark and Johnson. Thank you everybody.
