Console NIC Dead?

Seems my Console NIC is dead on one of my machines.  (No blinky light either.)

Swapped the PC that was using it and cable to another HP3000 and it works, so I weeded out a bad PC and cable.

The serial Console port is still functional so I put a old terminal on it.  So I still have console ability.

The GSP> Function to ping the NIC did a pass , (still no blinky).

Do these things have a habit of dying?
