Speaking of new printers, our HP LASERJET 600 M601 that my user asked me to set up today works as follows in my NPCONFIG:

810 (network_address = aaa.bb.cc.dd PJL_SUPPORTED=FALSE JAM_RECOVERY=TRUE SNMP_ENABLED=TRUE SETUP_FILE=LJ132GB.HPENV)

The SETUP_FILE is a 132 column landscape greybar escape code sequence, your setup file may be different.

A user reported back to me of printing 66 pages of a MANMAN report in one minute without error. I'm in the U.S. and the printer was in Europe.

There was one thing I did change on the printer using the printer's http interface. On "Other Settings" under the "Misc Settings" tab, the last thing on the pages was Bounjour Highest Priority Service, I changed it from IPP Printing to LPD Printing (BINPS). I don't know if it made any difference.

Strange conincidence.

Someone at one of my company's sites just told me they swapped out an HP P2055 with a HP LaserJet 600 M601 on the same IP address.

My fortune teller is now telling me to expect printer trouble.

Could this be an 'insufficient printer RAM' problem?

If the spooler is passing 2 - 3 pages, it will have to wait if the printer memory is 'full' and until the printer 'clears' its memory.

Tom.
