http://www.nytimes.com/1989/04/13/business/company-news-apollo-computer-sale-to-hewlett-packard.html When HP purchased Apollo Computer Inc in 1989, I believe that this was their move to buy into the 'Unix-based' workstation market, and the Apollo version of Unix suddenly became HP-UX. This led to the HP-Apollo-9000-400t etc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HP_9000 I just can't call this innovation, but just another purchase/acquisition. Sorry Jim.
